At Rooted Path Forest School we are passionate about the outdoors and on developing ways to integrate nature into mainstream education. We believe it’s crucial to provide young people with as many opportunities as possible to connect with nature. Outdoor learning, including Forest School, not only boosts wellbeing but also creates engaging educational experiences. Curious minds come alive as they climb, build, explore, and create. Learning that’s rooted in real experiences and natural wonder.
At Rooted Path Forest School, we work with primary schools across East Sussex to provide inspiring, creative and meaningful outdoor learning experiences.
Led by an experienced primary school teacher, former Assistant Headteacher and qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader, we combine educational expertise with a passion for nature and child-led learning.
We currently deliver regular Forest School sessions in East Sussex primary schools, supporting children's confidence, resilience, creativity and wellbeing through hands-on woodland experiences.
Our sessions can be tailored to EYFS, KS1 and KS2, including nurture groups, curriculum-linked outdoor learning and seasonal projects.
Nurture, Inclusion & Wellbeing
Creating space for every child to flourish. We recognise that children learn and develop in different ways, and that time outdoors can provide valuable opportunities for connection, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
We work with schools to offer small-group nurture and wellbeing sessions that support positive relationships, communication, self-esteem and emotional regulation.
Our approach is nurturing, inclusive and responsive, drawing on experience in primary education, Forest School and professional development in understanding children's behaviour and emotional needs.
Programmes are planned collaboratively with school staff to reflect the needs of the children involved.

We support teachers and school staff in developing the confidence and skills to take learning outdoors.

Our practical workshops offer inspiring, accessible ideas for teaching literacy, maths, science, poetry and art in school grounds, alongside approaches to outdoor wellbeing and nature connection.

We can also advise schools on developing Forest School provision, making the most of outdoor spaces and planning safe, engaging activities.

Available as staff meetings, twilight sessions, half-day or full-day INSET, tailored to your school's needs.

Qualified Staff: Our team are fully DBS checked, hold current Outdoor First Aid qualifications, and include trained Primary School Teachers with extensive experience working with children in school settings.
