Calling All Young Learners

Our monthly sessions have been running since September 2024, serving our existing community of Wilderness Wood families as well as welcoming newcomers from all over Sussex! There is a flexible structure to each session with seasonal craft and cooking activities interleaved with regular opportunities for developing fire lighting skills, tool work, exploration, games and free play with friends. If you’re reading this you’ll already know that spending regular lengths of time outdoors improves well being and mental health and builds resilience. Physical activities improve fine motor skills, problem solving abilities and strengthen relationships with others and with the natural world. 

Our qualified and experienced Forest School Leaders use careful observation and reflection to tailor sessions to each individual's needs, interests and learning styles.  ​All of our leaders are Forest School Leadership qualified, fully insured and DBS checked, First Aid and Safeguarding trained.

🌿 Nature-Based: Designed to inspire a love of the natural world through outdoor activities and to develop childrens' stewardship of the woods throughout the seasons.

🔥 Practical Skills: Children will learn bush-craft skills, such as fire lighting, shelter building,  foraging and cookery, under the guidance of experienced Forest School Leaders.

🌟 Ages  6 - 14 Years Welcome: We will cater for  different age groups and ensure that every child has a fun and engaging experience.

What to Bring:

• Weather-appropriate clothing

• A change of clothes in case of wet play!

• A packed lunch

• A sense of adventure!

This is an unaccompanied session, suitable for children happy be left in our care for the day. Participants are dropped off and left with our qualified and experienced team.
